GUEST SPEAKER - EXPERT IN NUTRITIONAL VALUE OF AGROECOLOGICAL PRODUCTS

BACKGROUND

Mada seeks an expert to deliver a short presentation during an awareness event in Tripoli to promote agroecology. The presentation should focus on the nutritional value of chemical-free products derived from agroecological practices to encourage farmers to adopt these practices, provide participants especially consumers with a comprehensive understanding of nutritional benefits associated with chemical-free agroecological products.

JOB SUMMARY

The selected expert for this role will take on the responsibility of developing an interactive presentation that effectively communicates the nutritional value of agroecological products in Lebanon. The presentation, with a duration of 20 to 30 minutes, will delve into key areas such introduction to agroecology, with a specific emphasis on the nutritional advantages of agroecological products (chemical free). Additionally, the presentation will include relevant case studies, an exploration of current market trends, and an analysis of the escalating consumer demand for these products. The expert's role is not only to deliver insightful content but also to ensure that the presentation captivates the audience, fostering an interactive and dynamic learning experience.

Targeted audience: Farmers, cooperatives, public sector representatives, consumers, market actors and other stakeholders

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Nutritionist is expected to:

• Collaborate with the Project Manager to discuss approaches for the session, ensuring a strong nutritional focus.
• Consult with the Project Manager regarding scheduling and deliverables.
• Develop a 20-30minutes presentation with visual aids (slides) highlighting the nutritional aspects of agroecological products.
• Attend and deliver the session during the awareness event scheduled for early April 2024 in Tripoli (exact location and event schedule to be determined).
• Engage in a brief Q&A session following the presentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree in Nutrition, Food Science and Technology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in the field
• Knowledge of current trends and innovations in agroecological practices from a nutritional standpoint.
• Previous experience working with NGOs on similar missions is preferred
• Strong communication skills to ensure the effective delivery of a compelling and accessible presentation that combines nutritional depth with audience engagement.
