PSS Facilitator

Major Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support in the implementation of PSS activities and Conducting community awareness activities.
• Ensure a safe and child-friendly atmosphere within the closed spaces, and Safe Healing and Learning Spaces, including no physical discipline or fighting. .
• Ensure a variety of structured games and activities, catering to the needs of children of different ages, genders, and abilities.
• Maintain and keep daily records of children attendance and parents.
• Gather data from the children and parents for registration and filling in of the M&E tools related to the children’s well-being throughout the project.
• Speaking with parents of children who are not participating and encouraging them to let their children participate.
• Providing opportunities for safe expression: build a relation of trust and understanding with children and parents.
• Providing opportunities for children/parents to participate in designing and conducting activities
• Ensure that children/parents feel comfortable, safe, and respected.
• Ensure that all games and equipment are accounted for and stored securely at the end of the day.
• Screen for and monitor protection needs and gaps in and around the center and refer child protection cases to the social worker team.

Child Safeguarding (CS)

• Responsible to raise awareness of the SOS Child Protection Policy principles and to protect children from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination.
• Responsible to report any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately, following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the national CS focal person or any other member of the national CS team and/or to respective line manager.
