Trainer for hygiene and MHM awareness sessions

The René Moawad Foundation has a zero tolerance to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse of beneficiaries.  Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) is everyone’s responsibility and all staff are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct, that enshrines principles of PSEA, always (both during work hours and outside work hours). Familiarization with, and adherence to, the Code of Conduct is an essential requirement of all staff, in addition to related mandatory training. All staff must ensure that they understand and act in accordance with this clause.

Job Overview:

Hygiene and Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) is a critical aspect of daily life that is unfortunately not prioritized in vulnerable communities such as the ones targeted in this project. In that aspect, RMF will roll-out complementary hygiene and MHM awareness sessions to all the children engaged in retention support and BLN activities.

Job Summary:

The Trainer for hygiene and MHM awareness sessions will be responsible of conducting awareness sessions to boys and girls on hygiene and menstrual hygiene management, which will be implemented in 4 centers in Akkar governorate: Bebnine 1, Bebnine 2, Halba and Tal Hayat.

Responsibilities:

  • To develop educational materials while using the participatory methods with visual aids, demonstrations, community drama, games, or films help with engagement and information retention and are especially important for illiterate women and girls
  • Facilitate awareness session for children in line with the prepared materials and use the necessary evaluations tools after each session.
  • Ensure activities run in a timely manner to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
  • Ensure that all activities are done in an appropriate setting in line with minimum standards.
  • Deal with difficult behaviors (conflict, aggressiveness, introversion) and understand the reason behind the behavior to positively communicate with the situation.
  • Ensure all project means of verifications (MOV) including attendance sheets, pre-post-tests, evaluation documents… are in place.
  • Document all necessary feedback and provide regular monitoring report to the line manager and the Project Manager.                                         

Qualifications:

  • Master or Bachelor degree in social science, public health, environmental science or any related field.
  • Very good knowledge of the region and its challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, reporting with ability to express ideas clearly, concisely and effectively, both orally and writing.
  • Good knowledge of psychosocial first aid skills.
  • Language: Fluent in Arabic and English is required.

Duration:

Starting on March 15, 2024, and ending on August 30, 2024. The trainer is expected to deliver all the required services within this period.

Payment terms

The Trainer is expected to complete and submit:

  • the approved deliverable
  • relevant invoice and timetable to be able to process the payment.
