Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Comply with the professional practice standards for midwives
- Maintain good team work
- Follow up with pregnant women at the center to avoid complications
- Prepare pregnant women for birth through training exercises and educate women on personal hygiene
- Regulate fertility and birth spacing
- Provide counselling on maternal care and family planning
- Conduct periodic clinical examinations to prevent breast cancer
- Conduct screening for STIs and Pap smear tests
- Prevent contamination through cleaning material and sterilization of the medical equipment at the center
- Organize and keep complete basic health information and health files for pregnant women
- Conduct health education and awareness sessions with regards to reproductive health and its services in the Center and community outreach
- Educate mothers about the importance of breastfeeding and how to take care of their children with a focus on the theme of childhood immunization
- Ensure the availability of supplies and equipment needed for the obstetrics and gynecology clinic
