construction officer (Surveyor)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Surveying:
• Conduct land surveys and set out points for construction activities of roads and canals.
• Analyze and interpret survey data to ensure adherence to project plans,drawings and specifications.
• Prepare and maintain detailed surveying records.
• Prepare topographic survey drawings on AutoCAD with all profiles and levels.
• Submit clear and professional drawings to project engineer including but not limited to plan drawings, profiles, sections, and others as per the requirements of the project engineer.
• Estimate preliminary design resources needed and submit them to project engineer.  
• Follow up with contractors’ surveyors during implementation to ensure all set levels are in line with the prepared drawings.

• Foreman:
• Supervise the contractors’ construction workers and ensuring quality workmanship as per the specifications.
• Develop and maintain daily work schedules, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
• Maintain clear communication with project engineer and other stakeholders such as municipalities.
• Ensure accurate project quantity control by verifying the quantities of materials used on-site against the original Bill of Quantities
• Revise completion certificates submitted by contractors and report to project engineer on updates or comments if any.
• Prepare emails, daily and weekly reports, and needed documents to be shared with the project Engineer.

• Related Skills:

• Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in construction and surveying.
• Proven experience in supervising construction teams.
• Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, drawings, bill of quantities. and best practices.
• Candidate must have a GPS and normal total stations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Driving license is a must.
