To address the growing needs of children and youth in Lebanon, WCH is implementing the Makani project, adopting a Multi-Service Community Centre (MSCC) approach across 10 community centers in the North (T5 area). This initiative aims to deliver a comprehensive package of integrated services targeting marginalized and vulnerable children and youth aged 0-18 years, as well as their caregivers. The MSCCs serve as safe spaces offering a range of programs, including Education, Child Protection, Early Childhood Development (ECD), Life Skills, and youth engagement support through a community-based approach. The goal is to reach both Syrian and Lebanese vulnerable children in host communities, collective, and informal settlements.
- Main Tasks:
- Implement the sessions on a periodical manner and evaluate each session with the youth.
- Promote and ensure youth participation in all activities.
- Ensure that all activities are done in an appropriate location in line with minimum standards.
- Document all necessary feedback and provide regular monitoring report to the PSS technical officer.
- Ensure that all youth are aware of any Feedback and complaint mechanism.
- Identify and Refer cases of youth when needed.
- Ensure any specific organization assessment tools are implemented where applicable.
- Ensure the use of good facilitation skills that make the youth feel comfortable and enhance their participation and personal development.
- Ensure that youth are not exposed to any form of harm or stress during the activity and that they feel safe and respected.
- Positively interact with youth and encourage them to express their needs and ensure their safety.
- Ensure participation of youth in the program in a non-discriminatory as well as age and gender sensitive and appropriate approach.
- Respect and Abide to the organizations internal code of conduct and child protection/safeguarding policy.
- Profile of youth Facilitator:
- University degree with minimum 1 year of experience; or high school degree with minimum 3 years of experience in youth programming.
- Prior experience as a trainer or facilitator is required.
- 21+ years of age.
- Previous experience as facilitator is a plus.
- Preferably, facilitators should be from the community.
- Should be motivated and flexible.
- Should have good communication skills.
- He or she should have basic knowledge of child protection and should be a good model for youth and demonstrate maturity.
- Proof of good behavior should be provided, if available.
- At least two references should be provided (former employer, first job: reference from other source such as school or community leader).
