Terms of Reference (TOR) – Social worker
Project: Increasing Resilience of Crisis Affected Women and Girls in Tyre (Sour) through comprehensive Livelihood and Protection Services.
1.Objective: The Social Worker will play a crucial role in providing psychosocial support to vulnerable families, particularly women and girls, affected by the ongoing crisis in Tyre-South Lebanon. The project aims to address the immediate and long-term needs of vulnerable families in Tyre-South Lebanon through a holistic approach that focuses on the safety, well-being, and empowerment of women and girls.
2. Responsibilities:
- Attend ToT sessions with Protection Specialist Consultant (training and coaching) / psychologist
- Prepares and follows-up on the implementation of PSS sessions and Parenting sessions.
- Provide psychosocial support to women and girls through individual and group sessions.
- Conduct needs assessments and develop personalized support plans for beneficiaries.
- Facilitate training sessions on protection issues, positive parenting, and other relevant topics.
- Shadow CFW as they deliver the PSS sessions and parenting sessions.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure a holistic approach to addressing the needs of beneficiaries.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of beneficiary interactions and progress.
- Provide referrals to other services as needed.
- Coordinate with Protection the Specialist Consultant (training and coaching) / psychologist and project coordinator on activities implementation.
- Compile and document data collected as requested by INITIATE
- Attend coordination meeting and internal meetings.
- Support the implementation of the planned components of the strategy
- Identify and mitigate risks that may affect project delivery.
3. Key Deliverables:
- Conduct individual counseling sessions for Cash for Work.
- Facilitate group sessions on relevant topics for Cash for Work.
- Submit monthly reports on activities and outcomes.
4. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in providing psychosocial support.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of protection issues and gender-based violence.
- Fluency in English and Arabic
- Excellent knowledge of the Palestinian context in Lebanon and the region
- Experience in working with the Palestinian camps in Lebanon
5. Reporting
- Report to the Project Coordinator.
- Provide regular updates on activities and outcomes.
6. Coordination
- Coordinate closely with other project staff, particularly the Project Coordinator and Protection Focal Point.
- Collaborate with partner organizations and stakeholders.
7. Working Hours
- Full-time position for the duration of the project.
Duration and Location:
- Full-time position, a 9-month contract position based in Tyre, Lebanon .
