Fabrication LAB Technician, Siblin Training Center, E

Provides technical assistance, guidance, and training to fab lab users, including students, researchers, and community members by offering technical expertise and guidance in designing, prototyping, and fabrication processes.

Assists users in understanding and operating the fab lab equipment, ensuring safe usage and adherence to lab protocols and guidelines.

Ensures the daily operations of the Fab Lab and the implementation of projects (from introductory to advanced levels) and prototypes using the lab's equipment Manages and maintains the fabrication lab equipment, tools, and resources.

This includes overseeing regular maintenance, repairs, and calibration of machines such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, Vinyl Cutter, woodworking tools, electronics equipment, and other fabrication tools.

Maintain an organized and efficient lab space by managing inventory, ordering supplies, and tracking usage. Keep records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and user activities.

Ensures the maintenance of the lab's equipment and software for optimal working conditions Supports the lab coordinator in planning and execution of activities (including assisting in technical training) when needed, scheduling time and space, etc.

Handles phone calls and takes appointments for projects and Fab Lab visits.

Enforce safety protocols and guidelines within the fabrication lab to ensure the well-being of lab users and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Conduct regular safety inspections, maintain safety documentation, and provide safety training to lab users. Helps organize Fab Lab tours and various events and workshops and helps the lab coordinator in conducting info sessions about the lab. Supervises and work along a team of volunteers at the lab.
