Facilitator of Workshops for Caregivers

A.  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Enhance and update the workshop content, develop new activities to engage the participants.
• Facilitate engaging, dynamic and empathic workshops, over two-hours, to diverse groups of vulnerable individuals with no background in psychology or mental health.
• Explain workshop content to introduce the concept of mental health, the Lifeline service, the warning signs of mental distress in children and youth, suicide prevention guidelines.
• Adapt workshop delivery methods to accomodate various learning styles and preferences.
• Distribute workshop visual material including pamphlets.
• Implement assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of the training.

B.  QUALIFICATIONS:

• Licensed clinical psychologist, with experience working with persons at risk of suicide or experiencing suicidal ideation.
• Proven experience in conducting training sessions on suicide risk assessment, active listening and suicide de-escalation.
• Practice experience in crisis intervention or mental health counseling.
• Certifications in suicide prevention, crisis intervention or a related field is an asset 
• Demonstrated ability to approach training and training participants with empathy, sensistivity and cultural competence.
• Excellent communication skillss, both verbal and written, to effecitvely convey complex concepts and facilitate meaningful discussions.
