Clinical Psychologist - Beqaa

Accountability and Complexity 

  • Provide appropriate mental health support and/or treatment through individual counseling, group therapy, and psycho-education to all beneficiaries in need. 
  •  Work directly with the Social Workers to develop individualized intervention plans following the case management model and follow-up at the Education centers. 
  • Conduct training sessions for staff to enhance the quality of care and support their professional development. 
  • Engage in clinical supervision to ensure cases are managed appropriately. 
  • Facilitate group support sessions for parents and caregivers, offering guidance and strategies to address common challenges related to their children. 
  • Conduct classroom observation to identify students in need of MH services  
  • Coordinate with the Education Assistant and Education Center Officer regarding all MH challenges faced by the students. 

Outreaching activities and networking  

  • Conduct outreach activities in close coordination with RI’s Social Workers and support the team to conduct MH assessment at the field level. 
  • Build a network with MH actors in Bekaa to refer cases based on their needs to case management units or various types of therapy (speech therapy, psychomotor therapy, etc.). 
  • Receive referrals from the Education Center Officer and education team to provide them with counseling sessions and follow-up based on a fixed schedule. 
  • Conduct field visits to the learning centers, to provide MH awareness sessions for the beneficiaries and to support the education team. 

Sensitization and capacity building among the Education team about mental health.  

  • Prepare awareness/training sessions about MHPSS guidelines. 
  • In coordination with the MHPSS coordinator, Supervisor, and Program Coordinator, train the Education team about safe identification and referral training based on RI’s standards to the program team. 

Reporting and Documentation 

  • Report on weekly progress to the Mental Health Supervisor.  
  • Monitor the psychological progress of the beneficiary, review cases with the Mental Health Supervisor/ MH Coordinator, and refer cases to specialized services when required (speech therapy, psychomotor therapy, etc.) 
  • File documents in an organized and efficient manner to facilitate the review of cases 
  • Ensure efficient data collection by filling in the mental health database daily (assessment form, follow-up form) and KOBO 
  • Responsible for archiving required documents/reports

Behavior and conduct  

  • Ensures that behavior inside and outside of work promotes the values in RI’s code of conduct and safeguarding policies  
  • Acts with integrity and holds themselves accountable for being respectful, inclusive and professional 
  • Reports any concerns
