Emergency Response - Weekly Operational Update - SITREP 3

  • Escalating Violence in Lebanon: Israeli airstrikes intensified in central Beirut and surrounding areas, causing over 2,255 deaths and 10,524 injuries. Nearly 188,000 people are displaced, with many collective shelters at capacity, creating a worsening humanitarian crisis.
  • Amel's Emergency Response: Amel Association International continues to provide health, protection, and livelihood support despite the conflict. Key services include primary health care, reproductive health, psycho-social support, and assistance to displaced populations.
  • Aid Distribution: Essential items like hygiene kits, blankets, water bottles, and mattresses were distributed to displaced families. Child-specific aid such as baby kits and early childhood development kits were also provided.
  • Health Services: Between October 7-13, Amel delivered 1,634 primary health care consultations, 198 mental health interventions, and distributed 1,137 medications. Vaccination efforts and outbreak prevention activities were also initiated.
  • Protection and Education: Psychological first aid and psycho-social support reached thousands of displaced individuals, including children. Education programs focused on social-emotional learning and recreational activities were provided to hundreds of children.
