Position Title: Joint Response JR Country Coordinator

Coordination and Oversight:

  • Coordinate and oversee the implementation of the Joint Response (JR), ensuring quality, adherence to strategic priorities, and compliance with DRA guidelines.
  • Provide a supportive environment for JR members and partners, facilitating the design of joint activities and workshops.
  • Represent the JR to external stakeholders on the country level and assist in drafting guidelines and project designs.
  • Provide timely input for joint reporting, highlighting implementation challenges, and risks, and ensuring JR members are informed of reporting requirements with necessary templates.

Crisis Management and Activity Planning:

  • Gather and disseminate information on crises to inform JR planning.
  • Develop and implement JR activity plans, including drafting proposals and addressing review committee queries.
  • Ensure baseline and endline measurements for outcome indicators of the log frame.

Budget and Progress Tracking:

  • Oversee the activation and implementation of the contingency budget, tracking progress against activity and budget plans.
  • Request formal and informal updates from JR members to ensure accountability.

Learning and Evaluation:

  • Conduct real-time reviews, learning exchanges, and evaluations to inform ongoing efforts.
  • Coordinate with other Joint Response Coordinators and participate in joint planning activities.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the NL Lead, including mid-term and final reports.
  • Maintain and upload all key documents (contracts, reports, etc.) to the DRA SharePoint, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.

Experience and Competencies

  • A degree or postgraduate degree in humanitarian aid, international development, public administration, business, social sciences, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience with an excellent professional track record, including at least three years in international management-level positions within NGO leadership, specifically focused on emergency and humanitarian program implementation in conflict or immediate post-conflict environments.
  • Proven experience in coordinating first-phase emergency responses, demonstrating strong internal and external coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing emergency response programs, including program design, partnership management, and budget oversight.
  • Experience working with civil society organizations and national NGOs, with a commitment to nurturing partnerships and enhancing local capacities.
  • High level of English competency, both written and spoken, to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to quickly and efficiently coordinate among all consortium partners, managing the information needs and expectations of multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in establishing clear structures and procedures for information management, reporting, and decision-making.
