Child Protection Officer in El Meten

The Child Protection Officer supports the coordinator in overseeing the implementation of the project
in collective shelters.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Design and Monitoring of the project’s implementation

  • Ensure activities are implemented in accordance with the proposed activities.
  • Lead the monitoring and evaluation processes of Child Protection activities.
  • Feed in the design of activities according to implementation lessons learned and community feedback.
  • Follow up on the implementation of the whole project.
  • Ensure that communities are targeted by the project.

 

Coordinating and representing Red Oak

  • Work closely with Red Oak Team
  • Coordinate and facilitate team communication
  • Supports advocacy and communications
  • Liaise with partners and participate in relevant working groups and other coordination platforms
  • Timely identify, inform, and discuss any issues with his/her supervisor
  • Attend meetings and trainings

 

Handling Management and Administration activities

  • Ensure that all project reports are submitted on time.
  • Perform any duties assigned by the project manager. 
  • Oversee the implementation of the project.
  • Follow up with the staff
  • Ensure that all CP staff are complying with code of conduct, Child Safeguarding, and other policies.
  • Manage progress reports and timetables
  • Have a good understanding of project objectives and goals, ensuring all team members have the resources needed
  • Prepare and maintain a well-organized documentation of the project.
  • Work in office and on the field 
  • Maintain organized and protected database and beneficiary data

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree in psychology, social work, education, social sciences and/or other relevant degrees.
  • Experience working with children in emergency contexts, preferably with a non-governmental organization (NGO).
  • At least two years’ experience in similar jobs. 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong English skills and fluency in Arabic
  • Attention to detail with strong follow up
  • Team-oriented, with ability to work efficiently independently.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating effectively with others
  • Can multitask, work well under pressure, and work efficiently to meet strict deadlines
  • Experience in remote work using Zoom and other applications.
