The PSS facilitator will be assisting the PSS officer in the implementation of Psychosocial Support activities with the children and adults in the targeted areas.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Conduct psychosocial and awareness activities at the community level.
- Identify protection concerns and provide psychological support to cases of concern.
- Make necessary and timely referrals when needed, respecting confidentiality and the beneficiary’s right.
- Conduct discussion groups, focus groups at the community level.
- Assist in organizing protection events for the beneficiaries.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Good organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and initiative taker.
- Ability to communicate with vulnerable populations.
- Advanced knowledge in psychosocial / psychological interventions (Child protection, Sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), art therapy etc...)
- Dynamic personality.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English; French is a plus.
Experience:
- 2-3 years of work experience.
- Previous experience in NGO and humanitarian field is an advantage.
- Previous experience in working with children and vulnerable populations is an advantage.
Working Conditions
- Stationed in the field (mainly in Tripoli and Akkar), with frequent visits to IOCC office (in Mina).
