PSS Facilitator

The PSS facilitator will be assisting the PSS officer in the implementation of Psychosocial Support activities with the children and adults in the targeted areas.


Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Conduct psychosocial and awareness activities at the community level.
  • Identify protection concerns and provide psychological support to cases of concern.
  • Make necessary and timely referrals when needed, respecting confidentiality and the beneficiary’s right.
  • Conduct discussion groups, focus groups at the community level.
  • Assist in organizing protection events for the beneficiaries.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.


Qualifications

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and initiative taker. 
  • Ability to communicate with vulnerable populations.
  • Advanced knowledge in psychosocial / psychological interventions (Child protection, Sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), art therapy etc...)
  • Dynamic personality.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English; French is a plus.

Experience:

  • 2-3 years of work experience.
  • Previous experience in NGO and humanitarian field is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in working with children and vulnerable populations is an advantage.

Working Conditions

  • Stationed in the field (mainly in Tripoli and Akkar), with frequent visits to IOCC office (in Mina).
