Red Oak is a humanitarian, developmental and cultural non-profit organization established in Lebanon in
2017. Red Oak is committed to a sustainable, inclusive, and innovative approach to protecting and
educating vulnerable populations in Lebanon. This includes children at risk, survivors of violence,
exploitation, and abuse and their caregivers, women and girls, and persons with disabilities. Our
approach stands out for its holistic and inclusive methodology, using art as a powerful catalyst for
change.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide psychosocial activities to children.
- Positively interact with children and encourage them to express their needs and ensure their
safety.
- Prepare and implement recreational activities for children and awareness sessions for their
parents.
- Ensure participation of children in the sessions in a non-discriminatory as well as age and gender
sensitive and appropriate approach.
- Ensure that the children feel safe, comfortable and respected during activities.
- Collects and documents feedback on the implementation of the methodology including
challenges and lessons learnt.
- Ensure that all children are aware of any accountability/ complaint mechanisms.
- Collect attendance of participants in the activities, and fill in weekly and monthly reports as
required.
- Respect and abide to the organization’s internal code of conduct and child protection policy.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Ability to provide Psychological First Aid when needed.
- Ensure that all identified children at risk are referred to other services when needed by
following the referral pathways.
Qualifications and Experiences:
- Strong experience in providing recreational activities for children (play, drama, circus, sport,
games, storytelling, drawing/painting, artistic activities, dance, music)
- At least 1 year in working with children (preferably children who were at risk)
- University degree in Art, Psychology, Social work, Education, or other relevant degrees
- Knowledge in Child Protection minimum standards or principles
- Previous experience in working with vulnerable population is a plus
- Good communication and facilitation skills with children (including active listening)
- Flexibility in working hours and willing to work in volatile environments
- Experience in remote modality of activities’ implementation is a plus
- Experience in the provision of emergency response is a plus
