Database Project Officer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Database Project Officer to support our program implemented by Shift, funded by IRC through PRM. The Database Project Officer will play a crucial role in data collection, analysis, and reporting, ensuring the effective monitoring of project activities across education, mental health, psychosocial support (PSS), and legal aspects. This position requires strong technical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project staff in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the collection, organization, and maintenance of project data related to education, mental health, PSS, and legal services.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement in project implementation, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Develop and prepare regular reports on project targets, progress, and outcomes, providing insights to support decision-making.
  • Support the monitoring of project activities in the field, ensuring compliance with program guidelines and data collection protocols.
  • Collaborate with project staff to facilitate data-related needs, providing training and guidance on data collection methods and tools.
  • Follow up on the referral of all protection-related cases, ensuring that data is accurately captured and reported in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of databases and data management systems, ensuring they are user-friendly and meet program needs.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for improving data collection processes and reporting methods, implementing best practices in data management.
  • Facilitate and contribute to Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Information Management, Social Work, Social Sciences, Economics, or another relevant field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in the humanitarian/development sector
  • Experience with data collection and analysis
  • Fluent in Arabic and English, both written and spoken
  • Proficient in MS office applications

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong technical skills in database management and statistical analysis software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and support diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with protection-related issues and the context of education, mental health, and legal services is an advantage.
