Individual Giving Fundraiser

Mission of the position:

To assist and work directly with the Head of FDC in tasks related to individual fundraising, Committed Giving & Donations.

  • The fundraiser aims to position SOS Children’s Villages as a strong and consistent partner among potential and existing supporters, based on SOS Children’s Villages roots, vision, mission and values.
  • The fundraiser conducts her/his work according to valid manuals and guidelines and the Fund Development & Communications Department’s planning and reporting procedure.

Main responsibilities:

 

  • She/he is innovative and creative in raising funds from individuals according to the business plan and targets, based on SOS best practice, competitors’ activities, research, tests and continuous evaluation of fundraising opportunities, methods and results.
  • Uses a strategic mix of products (committed giving, single/sporadic gifts, merchandising, in Kind donations…), and channels (Telemarketing, direct mail, face2face, events)
  • Conduct Telemarketing campaigns
  • Builds long lasting relationships with individual donors (donor lifetime cycle)
  • Is responsible for fulfilling the business plan and for reaching the set and agreed targets.
  • She/he has to adhere to all official manuals, guidelines, minutes of Fund Development & Communication Workshops and standards issued by the SOS Children’s Villages as well as to the legal requirements in the country.
  • In close collaboration with the Fundraising Head, she/he monitors competitors in terms of individual fundraising, the development in the market, as well as fundraising-related legal regulations (tax exemptions, merchandising, data protection etc.)
  • Apply database management in form of donor’s relationship management principles and donor segmentation for acquisition and retention activities.
  • Responsible of Data entry on Salesforce. Ensure accurate reporting.
  • Assist in managing media and sponsor/donor relations.
  • Assist in tasks that are related to communicating with sponsors/donors
  • Meeting with and presenting SOS work to potential donors

 

Child Safeguarding (CS)

  • Responsible within own area of work to prevent and protect children of all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination based on SOS Child Protection Policy principles.
  • Responsible to report any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately, following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the national CS focal person or any other member of the national CS team and/or to respective line manager
