Mission of the position:
The Emergency Response Project Manager is responsible for the leading and managing of the Humanitarian project:“ Disaster response“ which aims to support in meeting the living, social,educational and psychological needs of the children/ families affected by the ongoing war and internal displacement in Lebanon. The ER Project Manager will be expected to manage all phases of the project, from refining needs assessment and data collection tools, to leading project implementation and management. The ER project Manager is also responsible for communicating with all stakeholders, and making sure project targets are met.
Key Performance Areas and responsibilities:
- Manage needs assessment tools and data collection in a matter that serves to properly define the needs of children and families
- Lead the networking and partnering with NGOs, international agencies, PSAs and other actors on the ground in order to capacity build for meeting the needs of the affected target population
- Recruit and oversee a project team to perform the various tasks needed towards efficient project implementation
- Ensure that the financial plan is followed as per projected budget and expenses
- Manage and coordinate project activities as per agreed timeline, while providing ongoing monitoring and evaluation of target outcomes and beneficiaries reached
- Responsible for regular communication with national, regional, and international teams, local stakeholders and providing written updates/ reports as set by International Office
- Create and update detailed work plans, logical frameworks (logframes), and performance indicators to guide the project's implementation
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability by undertaking tasks beyond the predefined responsibilities, as thCreate a detailed work plan (including budget) which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project in a timely and efficient manner.
- Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
- Review the project schedule with senior management and all other concerned staff involved in the project activities, and revise the schedules as required.
- Support the Monitoring and Evaluation coordinator and Head of Programs in developing a MEAL framework, in addition to all other MEAL tools required for the effective implementation of the project including measurable indicators.
- Set-up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured.
- Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
- prepare monthly Reports on the progress of the Project.
- Prepare periodic and final reports to the project.
- Ongoing field visit to the locations to ensure propoer implementation of the activities.
Child Safeguarding (CS)
- Responsible to raise awareness of the SOS Child Protection Policy principles and to prevent and protect children/young people from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination
- Ensures strong focus on CS prevention by organising informal and formal discussions, workshops and other capacity buildings activities for young people to make them understand CS risks and protection mechanisms
- Responsible to report any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately, following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the CS team at programme level and/or to the respective line manager
