PRESENTATION OF THE ORGANIZATION
SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian NGO which, for more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their vital needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly involved in the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the first cause of death in the world, SI's interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in around twenty countries, SI's teams - 2000 people in total made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at headquarters, and a few volunteers - work with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.
Solidarités International (SI) is determined to prevent and fight all type of abuse – all act of exploitation, abuse and/or sexual harassment (SEAH) against members of beneficiary communities or collaborators, fraud, corruption, violation of persons and/or property, funding of activities harmful to human rights – that could be perpetrated in the frame of its interventions. SI implements a zero-tolerance policy regarding acts of SEAH.

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION
General objective:
- The Finance Officer ensures that the cash box and cash books are perfectly maintained, as well as monitoring, inputting and mission archiving accounting documents.
- S/He oversees his/her cash box security.
- S/He oversees Voucherization & Digitalization at coordination.
- Accountancy checking and integrating the cash Journals in SAGA.
- Be a part of any upcoming audit, by preparing and collecting the required documents from the auditors by respecting the deadlines.
The main challenges:
- Be familiar with SI financial procedures/policies in a short time, to be able to handle the cash box.
- Work on the accounting software (SAGA)
Priorities for the 2/3 first months:
- Handle the cash box and proceed with the payments at coordination.
- Voucherize & digitalize of finance documents at coordination.
Responsibilities and main activities:
• Establish a statement of needs for liquid assets in consultation with the Finance Coordinator and Deputy Finance Coordinator.In coordination with logistic department manage the monthly charges payments (generator, building charges, water gallons, office supplies)
• Proceed with daily coordination payment such as Per diem, allowances in accordance with SI procedures.
• Carry out withdrawals and payment of advances, in accordance with established procedures
• Keep the advance books and cash journal
• Record budget allocations and accounting codes of the expenses
• Before recording, check that the supporting documents complies with Solidarités International procedures
• Ensure that accounting documenting are translated if necessary
• Ensure the voucherization and digitalization at coordination level is done
• Check cash balances daily and report any discrepancies to the line manager
• Archive accounting documents in accordance with Solidarités International procedures, after a final check of supporting documentation
• Collect all the archives from each base and check all the received folders.
• Ensure cash box security and confidentiality of information

PROFILE NEEDED
Studies : Essential Degree in finance/accounting.
Experience : At least one year of relevant work experience in the same position, desirably with other INGO.
Language : English
IT : Good computer/Excel skills, SAGA knowledge is a plus.
Qualification :
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload independently, using initiative when appropriate
- Detail oriented
- Interest in and commitment to SI’s activities, enthusiasm towards humanitarian matters.

A salaried post : 1,325 USD as basic salary
Vacation : 1.75 paid leave per month
