Job Overview
Mada Association is seeking a Project Assistant to support the day-to-day implementation of activities and logistics under the project titled “Strengthening the resilience of vulnerable women, young adults and men in Lebanon by improving livelihoods and increasing food security” funded by BMZ and implemented by Mada and arche noVa.
The project aims to (1) improve livelihood security for young adults, men and women through improved access to the labour market and better income opportunities; and to (2) improve food security and economic resilience through the application of sustainable agricultural practices and strengthened agricultural value chains.
Mada’s component is fully focused on supporting farmers collectively and individually transition to agroecology.
The Project Assistant will report directly to the Project Manager and be based at Mada’s Tripoli office, with daily visits to project sites in Akkar.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks
Support the implementation of daily project activities ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
Assist in the organization and implementation of agricultural training programs, with focus on agroecology, climate-resilient farming, and water management.
Conduct field visits to monitor and assist in the implementation of daily project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
Support the Project Manager to ensure compliance with donor and Mada’s regulations for procurements, purchases, etc.
Support the collection of data for project monitoring and evaluation purposes.
Provide logistical support to the project team, including scheduling meetings, planning for trainings, coordinating with beneficiaries and stakeholders, organizing events, and assisting with procurement and documentation.
Maintain accurate records and databases for project beneficiaries and activities.
Follow-up on trainings’ attendance by the supported groups and supporting documentation.
Share all the information required to prepare the necessary reports to the Project Manager.
Ensure quality and timely internal reporting to the Project Manager based on Mada’s requirements.
Develop and maintain positive and fruitful relationships with relevant stakeholders including farmers, cooperatives, municipalities, etc.
Assist in any other tasks, as requested by the Project Manager.
Knowledge and Skills
Full adherence to Mada’s mission and vision, as well as Ethics Code.
1 to 2 years of experience working in NGOs in the development/agriculture sector.
Experience in sustainable agriculture/agroecology is a plus and will be scored during selection.
A university or technical degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, or related disciplines.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Fluent in English and Arabic; French is a plus.
Computer literate.
Experience working in Akkar.
