Food Security and Livelihoods Assistant - Zahle

The Opportunity

The post holder will ensure the establishment of youth intervention and ensure that the program needs are identified and addressed on an ongoing basis. She/he will report and respond to interventions as determined by his/her position and responsibilities identified in SCI strategy.

She/he will be responsible of the provision of daily/weekly reports. Moreover, he/she will be responsible for shadowing and mentoring a group of youth facilitators, providing capacity building on life skills curriculums, sports for development and entrepreneurship. In addition to that, she/he will work with group of adolescents to establish initiatives on a community level coordinating closely with existing clubs, networks and stakeholders.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • Degree in social sciences, social work, psychology, development studies or similar field
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in working with youth and adolescents in vulnerable and Previous experience engaging with community members and working in emergency and development projects.
  • Familiarity with refugee communities in country of operation
  • Experience in field work
  • Experience in conducting training and sensitization sessions for communities and beneficiaries
  • Experience in training facilitators and performing shadowing activities.
  • Experience in Food Security & Livelihoods in emergencies 
  • Computer skills (especially Excel)
  • Strength in interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
