Embrace is inviting qualified contractors to submit tenders for the construction of an 154m² theater in the area of Baabda, Mount Lebanon. This project aims to create a versatile space for peacebuilding initiatives, mental health workshops, and national cultural events.
Scope of Work
The scope includes, but is not limited to:
- Site Preparation:
- Clearing and leveling the site.
- Excavation, foundation work, and utilities connection.
- Construction:
- Erection of the theater as per provided architectural plans and elevation designs (to be sent upon request).
- Use of specified materials including fair-faced concrete, steel structures, and Alucobond panels as indicated in the design documents.
- Installation of doors, windows, and other finishes as per project specifications.
- Electrical & Mechanical Installations:
- Lighting, ventilation, and sound system wiring.
- Compliance with safety standards for public spaces.
- Finalization:
- Painting, furnishing, and clean-up.
- Ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Coordination with construction site focal point and the NGO’s appointed project manager for inspections and approvals.
Key Requirements
- Construction Standards: Must comply with Lebanese construction codes and international safety standards for public buildings.
- Timeline: Completion within 6 months from project start date.
- Quality Assurance: Adherence to all specifications in the provided design documents and approval processes during key phases.
- Budget transparency: Bids should reflect market rates and quality standards without directly using the maximum budget as the baseline.
- Post-Construction Support and Warranty: Must provide a one-year warranty covering structural integrity, materials, and workmanship defects.
- Compliance with labor and environmental laws: Contractors must adhere to local labor laws, ensure fair wages, and follow environmental regulations during construction.
- All bidders must sign a declaration committing to ethical practices and confirming no involvement in corrupt practices.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be licensed construction firms with at least 5 years of experience in similar projects.
- Demonstrate technical and financial capacity to execute the project.
- Demonstrate access to skilled labor and necessary equipment.
- Provide evidence of financial stability and capacity to complete the project.
- Adhere to timelines specified in the tender.
Contractors should submit:
- A financial proposal, including a detailed Bill of Quantity and timeline of delivery.
- Supporting documents:
- Company registration and relevant licenses.
- Portfolio of similar projects (with references).
- Signed declaration confirming the ability to meet project requirements and timelines.

Submission
All tenders must be submitted via sealed envelope to Embrace offices in Hamra, Makdessi Street, Samaha Building 2nd floor by January 17th.
Late submissions will not be considered.
