Community Care Worker

The René Moawad Foundation (RMF) is seeking to recruit an “Community Care worker” for MAKANI Programme in the North.

DESCRIPTION: 

The René Moawad Foundation has a zero tolerance to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse of beneficiaries.  Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) is everyone’s responsibility and all staff are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct, that enshrines principles of PSEA, always (both during work hours and outside work hours).  Familiarization with, and adherence to, the Code of Conduct is an essential requirement of all staff, in addition to related mandatory training.  All staff must ensure that they understand and act in accordance with this clause.

Note:

Recruitment for this position is contingent upon agreement’s signature; nevertheless, interviews will be conducted in advance as part of the selection and recruitment process.

 

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Facilitate timely responses to children's basic needs;
  • Link families to necessary services through community engagement and outreach;
  • Monitor protection risks;
  • Support in mapping community needs;
  • Act as a focal point within the targeted community;
  • Organize and deliver awareness sessions to parents and caregivers on nutrition and health topics bi-weekly at the center;
  • Coordinate with existing PHCs in the area and link the community to the PHCs and raise awareness on the services provided;
  • Coordinate with youth facilitator to conduct youth led initiatives in the centers;
  • Work within a team and acting professionally and ethically towards all concerned parties;
  • Use feedback provided by the supervisor to improve the work;
  • Organize and prepare the space, equipment, and materials before conducting the planned activities;
  • Record daily attendance of the targeted populations;
  • Report any case of neglect or individual abuse to the direct line manager;
  • Participate in a weekly staff meeting;
  • Perform any duties assigned by the Center Manager;
  • Work in office and on the field upon requirement; 
  • Timely identify, inform, and discuss any issues with the Center Manager; and
  • Adhere to and act in accordance with RMF Policies and Procedures.

 

Professional Standards:

All RMF staff are required to adhere to the RMF policies and practices with respect to child protection minimum standards, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.

 

Job Requirements:

  • University degree in social work and/or other relevant degrees.
  • Experience in working as a social worker.
  • At least one-year experience in similar jobs
  • Excellent communication skills, cultural sensitivity, flexibility, ability to improvise, team player.
  • Ability to productively work under pressure while maintaining a sense of humor;
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver on time;
  • Fluent in English and Arabic
