Gender Based Violence Expert
The GBV Expert will lead efforts to enhance the identification, management, and referral of GBV cases. They will oversee and mentor a team of Psychosocial Support (PSS) Facilitators, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to identify survivors in need of consultancy and ensure appropriate referrals. The GBV Expert will also ensure adherence to international best practices and survivor-centered approaches.
1. Capacity Building
- Develop and deliver tailored training programs for PSS Facilitators on GBV identification, risk assessment, and referral mechanisms.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to build the capacity of facilitators in implementing survivor-centered approaches.
- Create and disseminate tools, guidelines, and protocols to strengthen team competencies in GBV case management.
2. Case Management and Referral Oversight
- Lead the development and maintenance of referral pathways, ensuring confidentiality and ethical considerations.
- Provide expert guidance on complex GBV cases escalated by PSS Facilitators.
- Regularly review and evaluate cases to ensure appropriate interventions and follow-ups.
3. Program Development and Coordination
- Conduct weekly case review and feedback sessions with PSS Facilitators to address challenges and share best practices.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Monitor the effectiveness of GBV identification and referral mechanisms.
- Collect and analyze data on GBV cases, trends, and service gaps to inform program adjustments.
- Submit regular reports highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced degree in Social Work, Gender Studies, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field.
- Minimum of three to five years of professional experience in GBV programming, case management, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
- Strong knowledge of GBV standards, guidelines, and referral systems (e.g., IASC GBV Guidelines, Case Management Standards).
- Proven ability to train and mentor teams in GBV prevention and response.
- Familiarity with cultural and contextual considerations in GBV programming in Lebanon
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in English and Arabic
- Commitment to upholding confidentiality and ethical standards in GBV response.
