Generic Responsibilities:
Ensure adherence with HAND policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
Coordinate the Youth activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets and plans
Involve and inform communities and community leaders about the activities
Break down the annual operational plans into weekly, monthly and quarterly implementation plans
Ensure that procurement, development and distribution of materials and equipment are timely and according to procedures
Supervise, train and develop team
Prepare periodic progress reports and other documents as required
Investigate and facilitate introduction of new technology, methods and approaches in order to improve the quality of the activities
Ensure that HAND related activities are implemented within HAND Protection mainstreaming guidelines and reports any breaches/concerns to the line manager and/or focal point for proper action.
Specific Responsibilities:
Supervision of works on field and workshops in accordance with course curricula, and technical specifications, ensuring correct implementation of vocational works according to quality standards and designs.
Participate in design and implementation of youth assessments (i.e. trainers’ training needs, youth participation, workshops management, community involvement in youth etc…)
Responsible for the day-to-day activities at workshop level and all workshops level participation.
Create and maintain a safe classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of youth both inside and outside the centers.
Develop and maintain positive relations with refugee and host communities, local authorities and other local actors.
Plan and prepare outreach work and conduct frequently outreach information and counselling sessions with identified communities.
Ensure that the projects implemented are realized in a timely manner and as per the objectives and activities in the project work plan.
Monitor and maintain quality youth programs
Collect and enter data for monitoring and evaluation processes e.g. data base, youth daily attendance
Process, document and archive all administrative processes
Competencies:
Professional competencies:
youth development, bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
2-3 years’ experience from working in youth and vocational training projects
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Knowledge of NGO operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector
Strong documentation, research and report writing skills
Knowledge and experience in child protection issues
Experience in designing and presenting training and participatory programs
Experience in community sensitization/ mobilization
