POSITION SUMMARY:
The MEAL Officer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing monitoring and evaluation frameworks for our projects and programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, experience in data collection and analysis, and a passion for driving evidence-based decision-making.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks for projects and programs, including defining indicators, targets, and data collection methods.
- Design data collection tools, surveys, and methodologies to capture relevant data for monitoring progress and assessing outcomes and impacts.
- Coordinate data collection activities, including training field staff, overseeing data collection processes, and ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess project performance, identify trends, and produce actionable insights.
- Prepare and present monitoring and evaluation reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key findings, successes, challenges, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate monitoring and evaluation activities into project planning, implementation, and reporting processes.
- Support capacity building efforts for project staff and partners on monitoring and evaluation concepts, tools, and techniques.
- Conduct field visits and site assessments to monitor project activities, gather data, and verify project progress and results.
- Stay informed about best practices, trends, and innovations in monitoring and evaluation methodologies and approaches.
- Contribute to organizational learning and knowledge management by documenting lessons learned and good practices from project evaluations.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Social Sciences, International Development, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Three years of experience in monitoring and evaluation or a related field, preferably in the development sector.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, including experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R) and data visualization tools.
- Experience with monitoring and evaluation frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
