Social Worker

This role focuses on providing comprehensive support to migrants and vulnerable populations through case management and psychosocial services. Key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing personalized care plans, and delivering psychosocial support for individuals dealing with trauma and displacement. The position also requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, external stakeholders, and community organizations to ensure holistic support.

Main Responsibilities of the Position:

1. Case Management

  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify the needs, strengths, and challenges of migrants and beneficiaries.
  • Develop and implement personalized care and support plans tailored to individual beneficiaries.
  • Provide guidance and support to beneficiaries in accessing critical services, such as healthcare, social services, education, and employment opportunities.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of beneficiaries' files and monitor ongoing needs and progress.
  • Implement cash assistance programs offered in the Center, including assessment of needs, assistance with distribution, and the maintenance of detailed relevant records.

2. Psychosocial Support

  • Provide psychosocial support to beneficiaries dealing with trauma, displacement, and adjustment issues, using trauma-informed approaches.
  • Facilitate group psychosocial support sessions in collaboration with the Country MHPSS Officer.
  • Lead awareness sessions and educational workshops to enhance beneficiaries' understanding of mental health and well-being.
  • Organize and facilitate activities that promote social integration and cultural exchange between migrant communities and the host population.

3. Collaboration and Reporting

  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including legal advisors, healthcare providers, and educators, to ensure comprehensive support for beneficiaries.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with local and international NGOs, government agencies, and community organizations to enhance service delivery.
  • Work primarily from the new center, but their work will include travel around Beirut to meet with communities, individuals, and other organizations.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to improve practice and knowledge.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and donor requirements in all activities.
  • Collaborate with the Country MEAL Officer to prepare and submit monthly reports on activities, outcomes, and challenges.
  • Execute additional tasks within the scope of the role as assigned by the Project Director.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, UN bodies, NGOs, and local partners.

Qualifications, Skills, and Personal Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the humanitarian or NGO sector.
  • Experience in case management, psychosocial support, and working with displaced or vulnerable populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaborative tools such as SharePoint and OneDrive.
  • Knowledge of psychosocial support methodologies and frameworks, particularly in trauma and displacement contexts.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic is required.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and dedicated to supporting refugees, displaced people, and vulnerable communities.
  • Strong problem-solving and active listening skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and with beneficiaries.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.
