Country Accounting Coordinator

The Country Accounting Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the accounting cycle at JRS Lebanon, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with organizational policies and standards. The role involves overseeing accounting processes across all projects, ensuring entries are accurate and complete in the Navision system.

Main Responsibilities of the Position:

1. Accounting Operations

  • Oversee and maintain the accounting cycle for JRS to ensure its accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure that all financial entries are timely, complete, and accurately recorded on Navision.
  • Reconcile accounts monthly and ensure alignment with financial reporting requirements.
  • Oversee cash management processes, ensuring liquidity at the project and country levels.
  • Ensure compliance with NSSF, taxation, and other government-related processes, including accurate reporting, timely submissions, and proper documentation to meet legal and regulatory requirements.

2.Documentation and Compliance

  • Ensure all financial documentation is complete, properly organized, and stored in compliance with JRS Lebanon’s policies.
  • Collaborate with auditors by providing all necessary documentation and addressing queries.
  • Develop and implement measures to ensure adherence to internal financial controls and procedures.

3.Supervision and Team Coordination

  • Supervise and provide guidance for the Country Accounting Officer and Project Bookkeepers.
  • Assign tasks for the accounting team to ensure the timely completion of their responsibilities.
  • Provide training and capacity-building support to ensure team members are proficient in the Navision system and accounting policies.

4.Coordination and Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for accounting-related matters with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Collaborate with project teams to address financial inquiries and provide necessary support.

Qualifications, Skills, and Personal Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree, CMA, & CPA certification is a plus).
  • Minimum of 5 years + of professional experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in a non-governmental organization or similar context.
  • Proven experience with accounting software, with preference for Navision and Dolphin.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong supervisory skills with experience managing teams effectively.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
