Speech and Language Therapist

Main tasks and responsibilities

1. Screening and Assessment:
• Conduct screenings and assessments to identify intervention objectives
• Refer children to other specialists accordingly
• Assist with case confirmation.
2. Intervention and Support:
• Develop and implement individualized intervention plans
• Provide individual therapy sessions to children as needed
• Monitor and evaluate the progress of children and adjust intervention plans accordingly.
• Conduct classroom observations (following necessary permissions)
• Carry out key informant interviews with teachers and caregivers.
3. Coordination and Collaboration:
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and other stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to each child’s support
• Provide caregivers and teachers with evidence-based strategies and tools for accommodating specific needs
• Support teachers with designing Individualized Education Plans as needed
• Participate in regular meetings with AVSI project team to report on progress and challenges.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of all assessments, interventions, and progress.
• Prepare and submit regular reports to the caregivers and Equity and Inclusion Specialist on objectives of intervention, outcomes, and recommendations.
