Supervisor

  1. Roles and responsibilities
  • Dip CAMH Supervisors will be responsible for overseeing the practice-based supervision for their caseload
  • Dip CAMH Supervisors are expected to provide the following direct supervision and assessment, in Arabic:
  • Conduct bi-weekly 2-hour group supervision sessions to one group of 5-6 students, for 10 weeks (5 group sessions/10 hours in total per supervisor)
  • Conduct bi-weekly 1-hour individual supervision sessions to 5-6 students (same students participating to group sessions), for 10 weeks (25-30 individual sessions/25-30 hours in total per supervisor)
  • Conduct a mid-term assessment (1 hour) for each student (5-6 hours in total per supervisor)
  • Conduct an endline assessment (1 hour) for each student (5-6 hours in total per supervisor)
  • Dip CAMH Supervisors will also be expected to:
    • Attend bi-weekly check ins, conducted in English, with the Technical Committee overseeing the Diploma (10 hours in total)
    • Attend a 4-hour orientation workshop (4 hours)

 

  1. Profile

Essential:

  • At least a Masters level degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, Mental Health or a closely related field
  • Minimum 10 years experience in a clinical or technical position in a mental health or psychosocial support (MHPSS) programme or service in a humanitarian setting in the Middle Eastern region
  • Minimum 5 years experience in supervising specialist and non-specialist MHPSS providers
  • Fluent in English (oral and written) and Arabic (oral and written)
  • Reliable and able to work to the academic schedule; this might include evening and weekends
  • Available within the timeframe of the Dip CAMH practice-based supervision module

 

Desirable:

  • Experience in using EQUIP competencies or other practitioner competency tools
  • Experience in training, facilitating, supervising using an online modality
