Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Senior Expert (RF#202502)

I. INTRODUCTION

The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is a Lebanese NGO registered at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities under no. 1186 on 18 June 2014. LRI's mission is to expand, manage and protect Lebanon’s forests and landscapes through a community-based approach. We work on building resilient communities to environmental threats, increasing environmental awareness and education, advocating for forest conservation, and advancing research in the forestry field.

The Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Senior Expert (MEL Senior Expert) will be providing support in monitoring and evaluating and learning of ongoing activities within the NGO projects and proposals. He/She will be responsible for overall MEL needs of the projects and will provide guidance on data collection, analysis and reporting to show performance of the different components of the projects to relevant team members.

II. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop MEL plans for projects and proposals and NGO strategy and provide guidance in the implementation and update of the plans.
• Guide project teams in the development and updates of data collection tools.
• Train team members on data collection and analysis tools when needed.
• Supervise assigned MEL staff to record, manage and preserve monitoring, evaluation and learning data for all NGO projects in the MEL centralized database in a safe and accessible way.
• Analyze and discuss findings based on regular monitoring data
• Update the organization’s MEL policy and improve MEL procedures and processes to ensure data quality and integrity and proper knowledge management.
• Provide technical support on MEL and evidence-based recommendations to the relevant project managers and partners.
• Conduct project internal evaluation for at least one project per year.

III. REQUIREMENTS

• At least 5 years of experience in MEAL and evaluation
• Good reporting skills
• Good team work capacity
• Knowledge in NGO work
• Experience with various donors is preferred
