Community Mobilizer - GBV / SRH project

Amel Association International (Amel) is a Lebanese and non-sectarian NGO created in 1979. Amel works through 27 centers, 6 mobile medical units, 2 mobile education units and 1 protection unit, and for more than 40 years has supported the poorest regions of Lebanon, from Beirut and its South Suburbs to Mount Lebanon, Bekaa and South Lebanon. Amel offers accessible services for all in the following fields: food security, health, education, protection,
child protection, gender-based violence, livelihood, promotion and protection of human rights, rural development.

Assignment: 

The community mobilizer works 5 days per week. She/He works in close coordination and direct supervision of the GBV/SRHR program coordinator and SRHR field coordinator. 

Tasks and Duties: 
1. Provide door-to-door awareness sessions for women and girls.
2. Educate women on fertility, warning signs of pregnancy complications, hygiene, vaginal infections, family planning and children’s health.
3. Educate girls on puberty, menstruation, menstrual hygiene, and general health and hygiene topics.
4. Work directly with women and girls to carry out awareness sessions activities with them inside the center, involving community members when appropriate.
5. Refer women and girls to the Midwife for a free counseling and consultation.
6. Refer women to the Midwife in order to access the RH commodities.
7. Manage SRHR initiatives, campaigns and other activities at the community and PHC levels.
8. Refer beneficiaries to the social worker for support when needed.
9. Fill out the registration form with the beneficiaries.
10. Distribute dignity kits to women and girls.


Other tasks
 Respect and Abide with the organization’s internal code of conduct.
 Represent Amel Association, when requested and is necessary.

 Attend and participate in local and capacity building events as needed/Actively participate in training throughout the year.
 Be available to attend and participate in internal and external meetings.
 Meetings with other program staff is required and will be on a timely basis.
 Maintain positive relations with other team members.
 Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
 All Amel personnel are expected to act with tolerance, sensitivity and respect for diversity. They have an obligation to ensure that they do not engage in, condone or tolerate behavior that would constitute SEA.
