The Regional Field Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting marginalized groups, particularly persons with disabilities, in accessing meaningful employment opportunities. The role involves job placement assistance, career counseling, employer engagement, and advocacy to promote inclusive hiring practices. The coordinator will work closely with job seekers, businesses, training providers, and policymakers to remove employment barriers and create an inclusive workforce.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Advocate for equal employment rights for persons with disabilities in accordance with labor laws, policies, and international conventions.
- Build strong relationships with employers to encourage inclusive hiring practices.
- Organize sessions for employers on inclusive hiring, disability etiquette, and workplace accessibility.
- Advocate for workplace accommodations and accessibility in line with national and international disability rights laws. Support businesses in creating an inclusive work environment by providing guidance on reasonable accommodations.
- Develop and identify employment opportunities for persons with disabilities and marginalized groups. Collaborate with vocational centers and government agencies to enhance job opportunities.
- Conduct individualized career counseling and job readiness assessments to support job seekers.
- Facilitate mentorship programs and peer support networks to improve job retention and career growth for job seekers.
- Provide post-placement job coaching and follow-up support to ensure long-term job retention for persons with disabilities.
- Ensure accessibility of employment programs by adapting training materials and providing necessary assistive technologies.
- Monitor and address workplace discrimination cases in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including legal aid services and advocacy groups.
- Maintain comprehensive records of job seekers, placements, and employer partnerships.
- Track employment trends and assess program impact through regular data collection and analysis.
- Share success stories and best practices to encourage more inclusive hiring initiatives.
- Support the development of workplace policies that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Help job seekers with disabilities explore self-employment and small business opportunities.
- Engage in media outreach and public awareness campaigns to challenge employment stigma and promote workplace diversity.
- Schedule requested meetings, support agenda creation, distribute agendas, and document and publish minutes.
- Support project financials on the regional level in direct coordination with the Program Manager and the Finance Manager.
- Maintain regional project plans by capturing task updates, updating resources, and performing other directed updates. Maintain regional project calendars and update weekly status reports. Maintain regional project repository and follow up on overdue deliverables and approvals.
- Work alongside the Program Manager to arrange the logistics of the project, create a project timeline, set goals, and determine the elements needed to complete the project in each region.
- Facilitate regional meetings and distribute minutes to all project team members.
- Provide administrative support as needed.
- Prepare the regional spending financial reports for the Program Manager and Finance Manager.
- Manage the linkages with LUPD's other projects and needed referrals (e.g., GBV response, disability monitor) in line with the project needs under the supervision of the Program Manager.
- Perform any other duty as directed by the Program Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in employment services, career counseling, disability inclusion, or workforce development.
- Proven track record of working with marginalized communities, especially persons with disabilities.
- Experience in developing and implementing employment programs or vocational training.
- Familiarity with labor laws, disability rights legislation, and inclusive hiring practices.
- Experience in employer outreach, advocacy, and partnership development.
