The trainer will be responsible for providing structured training sessions to newly recruited MCT members (project coordinator, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses), equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to handle psychiatric emergencies effectively.
A. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a comprehensive training curriculum tailored to the needs of the MCT.
- Conduct training sessions covering key topics, including but not limited to:
- mhGAP training:
- Psychosis module
- Depression module
- PTSD humanitarian module
- Substance use disorder module
- Management of aggressive patients (including role-playing exercises).
- Family intervention strategies.
- Overview of the project of the NMHERM.
- Overview of the dispatch criteria, the process of the dispatch, and the process after the dispatch.
- "Ensure proper documentation using the CRM system.
- mhGAP training:
- Provide practical case-based learning and role-playing exercises.
- Assess trainees’ competencies through interactive discussions, case studies, and evaluations.
- Offer feedback and recommendations for further capacity-building needs.
- Design and administer pre- and post-training assessments to measure the trainee’s knowledge and skills development.
B. DELIVERABLES
- A structured training plan and materials (PowerPoint presentations, case studies, handouts).
- Facilitate and deliver the training sessions, ensuring engagement and practical application.
- A comprehensive training report summarizing participant feedback, assessment results, and recommendations for further capacity building.
C. QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years of experience in psychiatric crisis intervention and emergency mental health care.
- Previous experience in training healthcare professionals or crisis teams.
- Strong knowledge of mental health legislation and ethical guidelines.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
