Site Engineer (11 Positions – Pending Donor Approval)

Duties and Responsibilities include:

•             To assist in supervising, monitoring and implementation of the Shelter project in the areas of intervention.

•             To ensure the quality of implementation of the project as per the program’s standards guidance and based on the plan and BoQs.

•             To assist with planning project activities under the supervision of the Shelter Coordinator.

•             To assess the targeted shelter units and draft the necessary BoQs.

•             To provide technical assistance and instructions as needed.

•             To monitor and supervise the contractors’ works and activities as per the agreement or signed contract.

•             To assess the activities undertaken and ensure efficient use of resources in close collaboration with the logs department and the shelter staff.

•             Technical support for implementation of Shelter projects (including: conduct assessment, draft BoQs, sketches, implementation plan..)

•             To report daily project progress to the shelter coordinator

•             To ensure staff safety and security in the field

II. Qualifications Required

• An educational background in civil engineering or architecture ideally with a focus on residential construction.
• Ability to coordinate and manage staff and project activities.
• Strong organizational and supervisory skills.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel
• Highly motivated and with a desire to work with local communities.
• Ability to work with culturally diverse groups of people.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Working knowledge of computers using MS Word and Excel among other packages.
