Position Title: Proposal Writer

Reporting To: Program Manager/Executive Director

Duration: Until the end of 2025

Location: Remote

1. Background

Grove Street is a reputable consulting firm with over 15 years of experience, comprising a diverse team of more than 50 consultants specialized in various sectors. As part of its strategic expansion, Grove Street seeks skilled Proposal Writers to strengthen and broaden its resource mobilization capabilities by identifying, pursuing, and securing funding through successful proposal submissions to NGOs, donor agencies, and various funding platforms.

2. Objective

To enhance Grove Street's capacity in securing funding opportunities by effectively identifying relevant calls for proposals, preparing comprehensive technical and financial proposals, and managing all aspects of the proposal submission process.

3. Scope of Work

The Proposal Writer will undertake the following tasks:

Identification of Opportunities:

Regularly monitor, explore, and analyze various donor platforms, websites, and networks to identify funding opportunities aligned with organizational objectives.

Preparation of Technical Proposals:

Analyze proposal guidelines and requirements thoroughly.

Draft and develop coherent, structured, and compelling technical proposals ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and donor requirements.

Collaborate closely with program teams to integrate accurate technical details, objectives, methodologies, and outcomes into the proposals.

Preparation of Financial Proposals:

Develop clear, accurate, and realistic budget proposals, including budget narratives that align with technical proposals.

Work closely with finance and operations teams to ensure compliance with donor requirements and internal financial policies.

Coordination and Communication:

Coordinate inputs and collaborate across relevant departments and external stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality submissions.

Act as a liaison with donor organizations, handling queries, clarifications, and follow-up communication related to proposal submissions.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Ensure all submissions meet donor compliance standards, internal policies, and quality benchmarks.

Conduct final checks and proofreading to guarantee proposals are complete, accurate, and professionally presented.

4. Deliverables

Regular updates on funding opportunity identification.

Submission-ready technical and financial proposals.

Proposal tracking reports detailing outcomes and feedback.

Capacity building sessions are conducted periodically.

5. Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Development Studies, International Relations, Business Administration, or related fields.

Minimum 3-5 years proven experience in proposal writing and resource mobilization for NGOs or international development organizations.

Demonstrated success in securing funding from NGOs and institutional donors.

Excellent writing, editing, analytical, and budgeting skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Fluency in English (required); proficiency in other relevant languages is desirable.
