Background

DCA Lebanon aims to ensure safe access to land by clearing it of landmines, cluster munitions, and other unexploded ordnance. DCA has been involved in mine action since 2007, reducing the harm from explosions, as well as clearance activities release contaminated land for socio-economic development, addressing the rising demands from the local and refugee populations.

Since 2012, DCA has been implementing humanitarian and development projects through local partners in the areas of education, livelihoods, protection, and basic assistance, supporting vulnerable communities.

Role

The Team Member will support the implementation of project activities focused on agroecology, climate- resilient farming, and water management. Key tasks include organizing training programs, conducting field visits, assisting with data collection, and providing logistical support. The role ensures project activities are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards while fostering positive relationships with local stakeholders and facilitating effective communication within the project team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the smooth implementation of daily project activities focused on agroecology, climate-resilient farming, and water management.
  • Assist in executing training programs, field visits, data collection, logistical coordination, and stakeholder engagement to ensure project goals are met on time and with high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the project team, including Program Coordinators, MEAL Assistants, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.
  • Organize and coordinate training, conduct field visits, and maintain relationships with farmers, cooperatives, municipalities, and other local stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communication, support teamwork, and ensure smooth logistical operations.
  • Assist in the timely and high-quality implementation of project activities.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress and support data collection for monitoring and evaluation.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Provide logistical support for meetings, training sessions, and events, ensuring activities align with project timelines.
  • Track training attendance, provide necessary reporting information, and assist with other tasks as assigned by the Head of Program.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of experience working with NGOs, preferably in the development or agriculture sectors.
  • Experience or familiarity with sustainable agriculture practices and agroecology is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and manage relationships.
  • Comfortable with data collection, monitoring, and evaluation tasks.
  • Proficient in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and database management.
  • Experience working in South and Mount Lebanon is a plus.
  • Secondary certificate is mandatory.
  • A university or technical degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, or a related field is an asset.
  • Fluent in Arabic (written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in English and/or French is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with office software applications.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic project environment.

Reporting

  • Regular reports on performance and services will be submitted to Head of Program on a weekly basis.
  • Regular check-ins and feedback sessions will be conducted to ensure effective coordination and support.

Location is based in Beirut with frequent field visits to Bekaa, Mount Lebanon, and South of Lebanon.
