Filmmaker

SKOUN is a Lebanese, non-profit, non-governmental organization and one of the first outpatient facilities that provide accessible treatment, education and protection for all people who use drugs while maintaining its values regarding inclusion, accessibility, integrity and dignity.

For 20 years, SKOUN has been caring for the most vulnerable populations in Lebanon and strives to ensure drug use and addiction are treated as primary health issues.

SKOUN aims to support the development of community-based substance use and mental health system in line with the National Mental Health Strategy and model of care, tackling gender barriers in service access and gender biases in service provision through offering quality and gender-sensitive services to women, men, boys, girls and gender non-conforming individuals living in Lebanon, particularly the most vulnerable groups and people at risk.

About the project:

The “Integrated Wellbeing: Bridging Gaps in Mental Health and Substance Use Services for Sustainable Community Support in Baalbek” project, implemented by Skoun and Amel organizations under Shabake program and funded by Expertise France, runs from April 2024 to June 2025. It aims to enhance access to mental health and substance use services in Baalbek by integrating specialized MH and SU treatment within Amel’s Primary Health Care Center in Douris, Bekaa, Lebanon. The project promotes early intervention, continuity of care, and the reduction of stigma, while aligning with the National Mental Health Program’s integration strategy.

Purpose:

The filmmaker will work with Skoun and Amel to produce 1 video campaign (1 to 2 minutes) aimed at:

  1. Highlighting the importance of specialized mental health and substance use treatment services in Primary Health Care Centers (PHCCs), particularly at Amel’s PHCC in Baalbek -Douris, to ensure greater accessibility for individuals seeking treatment and to promote the sustainability of these services.
  2. Showcasing the integration of mental health and substance use treatment services implemented under Shabake Project.

Scope of Work:

The candidate is expected to:

  1. Script writing in coordination with Amel and Skoun team.
  2. Pre-production
  3. Production
  4. Directing
  5. Post production
  6. Attend meetings as needed
