GIS & Environmental Analyst

We are seeking an early-career to mid-level GIS specialist with a strong understanding of environmental issues to support our Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW) project. The ideal candidate will have expertise in remote sensing, spatial analysis, and mapping, with a strong analytical background to assess environmental impacts, optimize resource management, and support decision-making for sustainable CDW management. The role contributes to the development of evidence-based strategies for improved CDW practices through strong analytical and environmental insight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage spatial analysis and mapping tools to support CDW planning and decision-making.
  • Utilize GIS and remote sensing to monitor environmental impacts and land use changes.
  • Build and maintain geospatial databases to track material flows and site information.
  • Conduct geospatial assessments to support site selection, risk analysis, and resource optimization.
  • Provide technical input to policies and strategies related to urban planning, waste management, and circular economy.
  • Translate geospatial data into actionable insights for stakeholders and project teams.
  • Prepare maps, visualizations, and technical reports to communicate findings clearly.
  • Participate in project meetings, workshops, and field visits to gather data and present GIS outputs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate GIS into broader project objectives.
  • Support knowledge sharing and capacity-building on GIS applications across partners and stakeholders.

Ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency of spatial data and analysis. • Perform other related duties as assigned to support project goals and organizational needs.

Qualifications and Skills

Education:

  • Master’s degree in GIS, Environmental Science, Geography, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in GIS and remote sensing, with proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS and QGIS.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in geospatial modelling and data visualization.
  • Familiarity with environmental policies, urban planning, or circular economy concepts is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, research-oriented environment.
