In addition to other interventions in the area, AND is currently working on child protection, especially in the most deprived areas of Akkar, by providing education support, extra-curricular activities, and psychosocial interventions.

General objective of the job
Co-ECE Teachers shall support the ECE teachers to manage the classrooms, guide the students and help them understand academic information. Co-ECE teachers assist the ECE Teachers to supervise the classes throughout the lessons helping prepare and use needed techniques to correct unfocused behaviour without distracting other students. They are required to build trust with the students and their caregivers to help manage the behaviour of the students and encourage engaged participation in the coursework.
Job Responsibility:
The ECE teacher assistant will:
- Attend all AND trainings and capacity-building sessions.
- Attend and actively participate in weekly reporting and planning meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care, quality education, referrals, and reporting requirements.
- Support ECE teacher in student attendance and follow up closely with the education officer on children who have dropped out or are at risk of dropping out.
- Identify and refer child protection and child safeguarding cases and threats in accordance with AND policies and mechanisms.
- Help ECE teachers maintain a record of the follow-up actions taken.
- Support in data collection and management of students' academic levels.
- Support in archiving all project data records, including registration and attendance sheets.
- Support ECE teacher in preparing materials for lesson plans based on students' support needs.
- Provide individualized support to students as needed (work in small groups).
- Ensure that classrooms are safe, secure, stimulating, and inclusive to meet the needs of all children, including children with disabilities.
- Respect and commit to AND’s internal policies and procedures, including child safeguarding, and code of conduct.
- Spoken and written fluency in Arabic and/or other languages as required.
- Good writing skills.
- Capacity to work in team and flexibility to take on new tasks.
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different cultural backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail.
- Ability to work under pressure
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school Diploma or BT or TS in Education
- At least two years’ experience working with children
Reporting
The Co - ECE teachers shall report to the Education Officer.
