About the Civil Society Enablement unit:
The CSEU at Basmeh & Zeitooneh started in 2018 to develop the capacities of local community-based organizations, civil society organizations, and initiatives to enhance their skills and provide them with the necessary support that addresses community issues and focuses on enhancing awareness and empowering individuals and groups in civil society.
Scope of work:
In light of the growing significance of social media in shaping public discourse and influencing societal change, it has become an essential tool for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in their advocacy efforts.
Recognizing this need, the Civil Society Enablement Unit is seeking a qualified trainer to design and deliver a training program on Media Literacy and Social Media Campaigning. The training aims to empower CSOs with the necessary skills to critically analyze media content and effectively utilize social media platforms for advocacy and community mobilization.
To build the capacity of CSOs in understanding media influence, navigating digital spaces, and designing impactful social media advocacy campaigns tailored to their local context.
Media Literacy Content Areas:
- Introduction to Media Literacy: Definitions, importance, and key concepts.
- Analyzing Media Messages: Understanding bias, propaganda, and misinformation.
- Media Influence: How media shapes public opinion and behavior.
- Digital Literacy: Navigating the digital landscape safely and effectively.
- Evaluating Sources: Assessing credibility and reliability of information.
- Media Ethics: Understanding ethical considerations in media creation and consumption.
Social Media Management and Campaigning content area:
- Social Media Platforms Overview: Understanding the functionalities of major platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Content Strategy: Developing engaging content that resonates with the target audience.
- Social Media Campaigns: Planning, execution, and management of campaigns.
- Analytics and Metrics: Measuring performance and effectiveness of social media activities.
- Community Management: Engaging with audiences and managing online communities.
- Crisis Management: Handling negative feedback and social media crises.
Responsibilities/ Objectives:
- Training curriculum and materials according to the CSOs capacity assessment.
- Results and the first party recommendations.
- Prepare the training agenda and schedules.
- Conduct of training sessions (4 - 5 Days)
- Conduct pre and post tests.
- Prepare and provide a training report.
- Provide a detailed invoice.
- Provide the requested attendance sheets.
- Provide a copy of her\his ID or Passport.
- Prepare a general quiz on each topic about 10 questions each to be delivered for the participant.
- Ensure all topics to be covered in Arabic including training materials.
- Required Qualities/ (Profile needed)
- Proven experience in media literacy, digital advocacy, and capacity building.
Required Skills:
- Ability to conduct and facilitate online training.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the context.
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, communication and analytical verbal and writing skills in Arabic.
- Fluency in Arabic required for the training.
- Ability to achieve the training outcomes within the specified schedule.
