Job Description:
The Digital Security and IT Specialist will be responsible for safeguarding the digital security of GEM’s team and its beneficiaries, while also supporting and maintaining the organization’s IT systems. The role requires a proactive approach to risk prevention and technical support, ensuring both internal systems and urgent protection needs are met efficiently and securely.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Digital Security Support:
Support GEM team members and beneficiaries in preventive digital security measures and timely response to threats.
Provide direct intervention in urgent digital security cases, including breaches, threats, or attacks.
2. IT System Management:
Maintain and support the digital infrastructure and IT needs of GEM, including periodic checks and updates of team devices.
Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure the smooth functioning of digital tools and platforms.
3. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
Conduct regular digital risk assessments and identify potential vulnerabilities.
Develop mitigation strategies to reduce exposure to digital threats.
4. Standards and Maintenance:
Ensure digital security and IT systems are aligned with best practices and organizational standards.
Regularly update software, systems, and protocols.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
Work collaboratively with team members across departments to integrate security protocols into all areas of operation.
Train staff on digital safety practices and tools.
6. Reporting and Recommendations:
Provide periodic reports on digital security and IT performance.
Offer recommendations for improving digital resilience and system efficiency.

The position reports to Executive Director.
Desirable:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, digital security, or a related field.
- Proficiency in security technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM), risk management, and incident response.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex security issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- High ethical standards and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Languages
Required: Arabic & English mandatory (oral and written)
