Physical Education Teacher

USPEaK is a Lebanese non-governmental organization committed to empowering youth, women, and marginalized communities through education, civic engagement, peacebuilding, and economic opportunities. With a strong presence in Baalbeck and surrounding areas, USPEaK leads innovative programs to promote inclusion, social cohesion, and resilience. In partnership with TDH Italy, USPEaK is implementing a holistic child-focused program in Al Ain that integrates learning, psychosocial support, and physical education.

Position Overview:

The Physical Education Teacher will be responsible for designing and leading engaging, age-appropriate physical activities for children aged 5 to 13. These sessions aim to enhance children's physical well-being, encourage teamwork, support mental health, and provide a safe space for expression through movement and play. The role requires a strong commitment to child protection, inclusivity, and trauma-informed approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and conduct regular PE sessions tailored to the age and needs of the children.

Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that encourages participation from all children, including those with special needs.

Promote values of teamwork, discipline, respect, and non-violence through structured activities and games.

Integrate psychosocial support elements into physical activities to promote emotional well-being.

Monitor children’s participation and progress, reporting any concerns to the Child Protection Focal Point.

Ensure that all sports equipment is used safely and stored appropriately.

Collaborate closely with the program coordinator, social worker, and other educators to align activities with the broader objectives of the project.

Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and coordination efforts as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related field (or relevant experience).

Prior experience working with children, preferably in vulnerable or crisis-affected contexts.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage groups of children with empathy and structure.

Familiarity with child protection standards and commitment to safeguarding policies.

Residence in or near Al Ain is a plus.
