Local Coordinator - Aqoura

Background:Lebanon faces complex and overlapping crises, economic, political, and humanitarian that have deepened social divisions across religious, political, and class lines. In response, the Berghof Foundation, funded by the European Union, is partnering with local actors to strengthen dialogue, foster inclusive engagement, and support local initiatives for service delivery. historical background of the Aqoura region is required.

• Eligibility Criteria:

•  Applicants must be from and reside in or very near the Aqoura region. Please indicate your address in the CV and in the subject of your email.
• Familiarity with the socio-political and
• Strong preference for local applicants with existing community relationships and insight.
• Proven experience in community mobilization, social engagement and communication, or local development work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Berghof team to map the target area and coordinate field activities.
• Organize and support dialogue meetings, training, and public engagement events.
• Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, civil society actors, and municipal leaders.
• Lead and document group discussions aimed at identifying socio-economic needs and shaping local initiatives.
• Submit regular field progress reports and contribute to project documentation.

Qualifications:

• knowledge of Lebanon’s political landscape and current affairs.
• Interest in the history and local dynamics of the Aqoura region.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in Arabic; English is a plus.
• Team player with flexibility, resilience, and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
