Lecturer for Legal Counselling Workshops

URDA will organize a series of legal counselling workshops targeting at-risk journalists, bloggers, and human rights defenders (HRDs) in Lebanon. These workshops aim to equip participants with essential legal knowledge and practical strategies to navigate challenges related to freedom of expression and media independence. A total of three workshops will be held between July and December 2025, each accommodating 21 participants.

The target group frequently faces substantial risks due to their professional activities in journalism, blogging, or advocacy. The workshops will address key topics such as understanding legal rights, defending against defamation, handling censorship, and responding effectively to legal threats.

Key Tasks 

Conduct Legal Workshops:

Deliver legal counselling sessions tailored to the needs of the target group.

Facilitate interactive discussions and practical activities.

Gather and analyze participant feedback to enhance future sessions.

Finalize and Write Workshop Curriculum:

Research and compile relevant legal topics impacting journalists, bloggers, and HRDs.

Develop a structured curriculum for each workshop.

Create detailed lesson plans and supporting materials.

Review and update the curriculum based on participant input and evolving legal contexts.
