Salesforce Administrator

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee all aspects of user and license management including new user setup/deactivation, roles, profiles, permissions, public groups, sharing rules, etc
  • Provide user training and create training materials
  • Monitor and improve user adoption
  • Respond to user support tickets
  • Identify and gather requirements, translating into best practice, scalable solutions with a focus on user experience
  • Identify unused or underutilized platform features
  • Contribute to the strategic CRM roadmap by defining priorities in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Communicate any platform changes to end users and stakeholders
  • Manage Salesforce configuration changes, including (but not limited to): Flow, assignment rules, approval processes, fields, page layouts, record types, dynamic layouts, apps, actions, custom settings, mobile administration, dashboards and reports
  • Assist the maintenance of sandbox environments, experience sites, and any related Salesforce environments
  • Maintain technical documentation for the system
  • Manage data to improve Salesforce data quality, implementing rules and automation as needed and including mass data uploads, editing, and deleting in coordination with relevant focal person
  • Proactive system maintenance including Security Reviews, Release Updates, Health Check, and Optimizer
  • Work with integrated applications including Survey Portal, Volunteering Portal, Fundraising Site, Marketing Cloud, Learning Management System, and any additional applications integrated with Salesforce
  • Coordinate with implementing partner, salesforce account managers, or other suppliers as needed
  • Coordinate with sectors focal persons to maintain system, provide support, and implement needed use cases
  • Gather requirements and propose technical solutions
  • Ensure all implemented features take into account Salesforce limitations (object limits, flow limits, etc)
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Salesforce Marketing Cloud email templates, journeys, data extensions, automations, and reporting

Function Specific Experience

 

  • Salesforce product knowledge and hands-on administration experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Non-Profit Success Pack (NPSP)
  • Experience implementing Salesforce configuration changes
  • Understanding of Salesforce sharing and security
  • Experience in data management & analysis

 

Industry Related Experience

  • Salesforce Certification such as Certified Administrator, Advanced Administrator, Marketing Administrator, Developer or other is a plus
  • Trailhead Badges/Super Badges is a plus
  • Basic understanding of Apex triggers, Visual Force and/or other relevant developer languages is a plus
  • Active in the Salesforce community is a plus
