Accounting Trainer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Course Designing and Material Preparation:

  • Design and deliver practical, up-to-date, and high-quality course curriculum that introduces key accounting concepts, bookkeeping, financial reporting, budgeting, and use of accounting software (e.g., Excel, QuickBooks).
  • Prepare session plans, handouts, assessments, and tools tailored to participants knowledge and skill levels.
  • Adapt training content to suit the background and pace of learners.

2. Training Delivery:

  • Deliver engaging and interactive accounting training sessions, ensuring the content is accessible and clear to all participants.
  • Adopt a variety of teaching methods, including practical exercises, case studies, and role plays, to enhance understanding.
  • Offer one-on-one support when needed during or after sessions.

3. Learner Support and Course Evaluation:

  • Conduct pre- and post-training assessments to measure participant progress and the effectiveness of the training.
  • Prepare up-to-date assessments tools to monitor trainees’ progress and update course content and facilitation accordingly.
  • Support participants in preparing final projects or assignments based on their learning.
  • Help collect feedback from learners to improve future training.
  • Provide constructive feedback to learners on their performance and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain records of attendance, assessments, and performance.

4. Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Training Coordinator to align the course with overall training goals and to ensure the consistency and quality of training delivery.
  • Participate in occasional meetings or follow-up sessions as requested.
  • Contribute to highlighting learner’s progress or success stories as needed.
  • Share best practices and insights with colleagues to continuously improve the training process.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial management.
• Practical experience with creating financial statements, managing budgets, and analyzing financial data.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, or Microsoft Excel (advanced functions).
• Prior teaching, training, coaching, or mentoring experience is required.
• Practical experience with NGOs or community-based organizations is a plus.
