MHPSS trainer consultant

Role Summary:
Located within SAMS Lebanon Office, the MHPSS Trainer Consultant is responsible for organizing and delivering structured psychosocial and recreational activities tailored to children of various ages, genders, and abilities. The role involves conducting awareness sessions, small group activities, and inclusive initiatives that foster children’s well-being, participation, and sense of safety.

Key responsibilities:
• Supervise 6 Community based facilitators on a weekly basis through on the site coaching.
• Participate and supervise 22 activities including (2 awareness sessions, 20 recreational) on a monthly basis
• Implement Pre and Posttests, compile data to share with MEAL Officer, monitor progress and analyze impact of activity to share with project assistant to be reflected in impact and monitoring reports. Pre and Posttests ought to be aligned with number of beneficiaries x 2 per activity.
• Lead weekly supervisions with the community facilitators to reflect challenges and ideas and shares them with the team.
• Ensure that all games and equipment are accounted for and stored securely at the end of the day and follow up on the materials every month with the Project Officer by filling the inventory form.
• Collect at least two success stories on a monthly basis and documents them in the monthly report to be shared with SAMS media consultant in coordination with the project assistant.
• Coordinate with the outreach workers on a weekly basis in terms of setting 5 beneficiary groups, requesting assistance from the outreach workers during the implementation and make sure that all the beneficiaries participating in the activities have signed the informed consent form before the initiation of the cycle.
• Plan the distribution and distribute snacks for the beneficiaries in each session after coordinating with the project officer on the quantities needed on a weekly basis.
• Observe and selects beneficiaries on a monthly basis, and send the data to the MEAL officer for further analysis.
• Conduct trainings for the beneficiaries selected on a quarterly basis, and merge the training report with the monthly report delivered to the project assistant.
• Follow up once a month on the activities to encourage outreach and dissemination to the community and submit tracking reports on a monthly basis to the MEAL officer for further analysis.
• Deliver TOF for community facilitators, teachers, youth board members, about the HH implementation program.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in any related field (social work, education, psychology…)
• At least 3 years’ experience in similar position
• Compulsory experience in animation with children or any related field.
• Experience in providing recreational activities to children (drama, play, games, circus, sport,
storytelling, drawing/painting, artistic activities, music…).
• Strong social and communication skills
• Fluency in Arabic and good in English
• Cultural sensitivity
• Familiarity with creative methodologies
• Knowledge of child protection and psychosocial support.
• Respect of child protection standards, ability of inclusion of all children and quick adaptation.
• Positive, respectful attitude and collaborative approach to diversity.
• Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with team members.
• Capacity to work in small teams and flexibility to take on new tasks.
• Commitment to the vision and goals of SAMS Lebanon, including adherence to the Child
Safeguarding Policy
