CONTEXT & BACKGROUND
Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Eco-system in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.
The Rural Entrepreneurs in Agri-Food (REAF) program aims at strengthening the business and product viability of innovative startups tackling sustainable rural economic development operating in South Mount Lebanon, Central and West Bekaa, Southern Baalbeck and Hasbaya. The program will provide the startups with tools to transform their ideas into sustainable and profitable businesses. REAF’s youth training will enhance their entrepreneurship mentality and entry into the job market.
The Accelerator Program's mission is to nurture and grow disruptive ideas, proof of concepts, and prototypes that share three common characteristics:
- A disruptive scientific or technological focus in agri-food, circular economy, sustainable agriculture, waste management and valorization.
- The possibility to scale in the local market and beyond that.
- The potential to create sustainable job opportunities locally.
Objectives
- Equip the eleven startups within this cohort with the knowledge and skills to pitch their ideas effectively in front of jury boards, investors and Demo Day attendees.
- Provide personalized guidance through one-on-one clinics to assist startups in preparing their pitch decks and their delivery.
SCOPE OF WORK
The REAF Program seeks a Pitching Trainer to deliver the following requirements:
- Work closely with startups to understand their business concepts, objectives, and target markets.
- Advise the Startups on the structure, coherence, and design of their pitch deck to convey the information required by investors, jury members and Demo Day attendees.
- Offer feedback and revisions to refine the pitch decks, ensuring they align with the startups' goals and the overall mission of the REAF program.
- Train the Entrepreneurs on a 5-minute investment pitch with visual aids (PowerPoint Pitch Deck).
- Train the Entrepreneurs on leveraging their Body Language to increase their credibility when pitching to prospective clients or investors.
- Train the Entrepreneurs on dealing with the stressful environment of pitching investors for equity/debt capital injections
- Provide comprehensive content and materials that will be used by the entrepreneurs after attending the workshop. These materials will include detailed information presented during the workshop, additional readings for the startup to research and understand the topic more, suggested links and sources on the topic...etc. All these materials should be uploaded in coordination with the Berytech team to make them accessible for startups.
- Conduct pre-engagement and post-engagement briefings with the Berytech team to align strategies and objectives.
EXPECTED DELIVERABLES
- Deliver an in-person workshop on investment pitching and body language to REAF Startups.
- Deliver a minimum of 22 1on1 clinics to 11 Startups (minimum 2 clinics per startup).
- A comprehensive and complete pitch deck and rehearsal sessions prior to the selection day.
- Assist the main rehearsals sessions before the Selection Day and the Demo Day.
- Written feedback on every startup’s status
- Conduct preparatory meetings with the Berytech Team to align the content of the workshop as well as the approaches and responsibilities under this agreement.
- Submit a written report to the Berytech team outlining the progress and status of each startup, including recommendations for further improvement.
Qualifications
The Pitching Expert should possess the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in delivering investment pitching trainings and coaching sessions to early-stage startups and entrepreneurs
- Ability to guide in structuring the pitch deck
- Strong understanding of pitch deck structure, storytelling techniques, and investor expectations
- Excellent public speaking, communication, and presentation coaching skills
- Ability to guide founders on body language, delivery confidence, and handling Q&A under pressure
- Experience in preparing startups for demo days, investor meetings, or pitch competitions
- Familiarity with the fundraising landscape (equity, debt, grants) and how startups should position themselves accordingly
- Prior exposure to startups working in agri-food, eco-tourism, circular economy, or sustainability is a plus
- Capacity to offer tailored, constructive feedback and track improvement
- Availability to commit to the program timeline, workshops, and clinic sessions
