Call for Therapist Specialist

1. Background
Salam Project aims to foster economic resilience and social stability in Central Bekaa. A key component of
the project focuses on transforming the Takallam Social Center into a hub for psychosocial services and
community activities.
As part of this project, MDSF is seeking a qualified therapist specialist or training organization to deliver
“Emotional resilience workshops” for 150 Parents and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)
that will be conducted at the MDSF’s premises.


2. Objective of the Assignment
The primary objective of this call for consultancy is to build the capacity of 150 parents and Micro, Small,
and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) on emotional resilience. The training will ensure that participants gain
both theoretical understanding and practical tools needed to effectively support themselves and others
in coping with emotional stress, fostering well-being within their families and communities.

3. Scope of Work
The selected trainer/service provider will:
 Develop workshop content and deliver it in 10 in-person sessions, each with 15 different
participants, focused on strengthening emotional resilience among parents and MSME owners,
with material tailored to their specific roles and needs.
 Develop and submit the training agenda and supporting materials that will be used in the
workshop.
The trainer is expected to align the workshops with MDSF’s broader psychosocial strategy under the SALAM
project, especially the services offered at the Takallam Center. This includes coordination with Takallam staff
when needed.


4. Suggested Training Topics
 Understanding Stress, Trauma, and Their Impact
Explore the nature of stress and trauma, recognize their symptoms, and understand how they
affect individuals, families, and work environments.
 Building Personal Resilience and Adaptability
Strengthen emotional endurance and flexibility, with strategies for navigating change,
uncertainty, and crisis.
 Effective Coping and Emotional Regulation Techniques
Learn practical tools for managing anxiety and emotional overwhelm, including mindfulness,
grounding, and breathing exercises.
 Self-Care and Burnout Prevention
Emphasize the importance of self-care, emotional balance, and strategies to avoid burnout in
both personal and professional settings.
 Compassionate Communication and Conflict Management
Develop skills in active listening, empathetic dialogue, and constructive conflict resolution at
home and in the workplace.
 Supporting Others Through Crisis and Uncertainty
Equip participants with techniques to support children, employees, or peers in emotionally
challenging situations, fostering safe and supportive environments.
 Long-Term Emotional Well-being and Recovery
Address grief, loss, and economic stress, while introducing sustainable strategies for emotional
wellness and guidance on when to seek professional support.
 Conflict de-escalation and resolution techniques
 Positive parenting under stress and in times of adversity
 Managing transitions and coping with uncertainty
 Reducing stigma around mental health and emotional challenges


5. Recommended Tools
To support parents and MSMEs in applying the emotional resilience topics covered in the training, the
trainer is expected to provide or recommend the following tools:
 Workshop handouts: to provide participants with clear, accessible, and practical reference
materials that support and reinforce the content delivered during the emotional resilience
workshops

6. Deliverables
Detailed training agenda and methodology
Training materials (presentations, exercises, handouts)
● Summary report after each session.
● Pre/post evaluation forms to assess learning and relevance.
● Adapted materials to meet diverse literacy and inclusion needs of participants (where relevant).

7. Duration and Timeline
 Training: 10 days (3 hours each), tentatively scheduled for August 1, 6, 13, 22, 27 and September
2 11, 16, 25, 30 at MDSF premises-Ferzol Main Road.


8. Qualifications of the Trainer/Service Provider
 Demonstrated experience in delivering emotional resilience or psychosocial support workshops,
ideally targeting parents, caregivers, or community-based organizations.
 Strong facilitation and coaching skills
 Arabic fluency required; English proficiency is an asset

10. Reporting and Supervision
The trainer/service provider will report and keep close coordination with the Project Manager at MDSF.
Coordination and scheduling support will be provided by MDSF staff.


11. Payment Terms
 Payment will be made via bank transfer or Telegraphic Transfer (TT): 40% upon completion
of the 2-day training and the remaining 60% upon completion of all clinics and submission of the
final report
 Vendors without a valid MOF certificate will be subject to tax deductions in accordance 
with Articles 41 and 42 of the Lebanese income tax law (3.4% on goods and 8.5% on
services).
